Noticed a huge improvement in his hand mobility. He is able to grasp things and trace where his hands land. I handed him a book with various surfaces...he tried to touch it with his hands and sent me a smile as a feedback. Also noticed he took special interests in the alphabetic letters instead of the pictures. How funny I was just worried about his development yesterday and he proved me wrong today!!! what a smart cookie...

Last scan shows great fetal position, weight and movement. Yep, a good 3.4kg already!! So far so good. It can come anytime now. First name is done and dusted. Still need to come up with a middle name and a Chinese name.

We have recently been given a large amount of baby gears from Edith...our dearest friend and possibly the child's god mother in the future......At least , that's my thinking.

I have to say, it is getting increasingly harder for me to get into a comfortable position at night . Broken sleeps are a norm for me.

Don't know if I'm feeling happier or more nervous. All I know is for this to end soon. It is taking way too long and my body has been overloaded!! It is getting increasingly uncomfortable to sleep at night or just do anything. sleeping or lying down is what I need right now but the physic is not allowing me to do so often. Antenatal classes tick; hospital bags tick;baby clothes washed tick.
what leaves behind is the breastfeeding bit and self pampering which must be done afterwords! God, hate my hair and body right now......oh I also have swollen knuckles which I don't know where I got it from and eczema etc.
I guess I'm just little depressed.

In all honesty, I hate cooking and cleaning!

One major development in the last week is the significant increase in the size of my belly. I can feel the pressure building up everyday. Leg cramps is another annoying factors. glucose test was not so good the first time and had to be sent away to do another one last weekend. It was like hell. I was given a stronger and sweeter sugar concentrator to take down in one go and sit in a room for 2 hours before they took my blood....all I can say to that is never go through it again. After the test, my first gut feeling was I sure do have the problem now even if I didn't have it before.
Stew's been busy with his studies and work. His work sent him away from home 3 days a week during this critical time in our lives and yet for the sake of our future we can only be stepped upon by those people. I can handle most of the tasks at the moment but really would love to have a helping hand every now and then.Anyway there are just too many things we can not control around us and the best we can do now is to make sure me and baby is well.....one advise is in this world the best backup plan is yourself. You must be always prepared to do everything without any help. Hunter, this one is for you too.

week 24, there are changes every week...how exciting

All of a sudden I am no longer a hungry monster. I have been waiting for this day to come as my weight keeps creeping up and so does my breasts size. Sometimes I wonder if there will be an end. Up until now, I have been eating quite a lot , I mean 3 full meals a day plus snacks...I guess my stomach has stretched as well. But this week I feel awfully full and just can't eat a lot of things I used to eat. Kind of feeling like the first 3 months again.

Frequent toilet visits have been keeping awake most of the nights....almost everything that says in that Bounty book has happened to me gradually. It looks like my next fear is diabetes and swollen feet. They say month 5 and 6 are the best time in a pregnancy and we should enjoy this time. To me this enjoyable period seems a little too short..

We went to the ultrasound scan last night were both thrilled to find out it is a boy!! The photo taken from the scan was so clear and cute and I could even see the facial structure and it looks surprisingly like Daddy. --already in love with you little Hunter=)

week 20, 30/01/11

yeah...I have finally gone past the half way mark!! just a couple of days pass week 20. I have to say I'm feeling much better now compared to last month.I can stay up later and enjoy some movies, plus I can eat some food that I used to eat. This is such a satisfying feeling being able to do just that.

Belly size..ummm to me it hasn't grown much bigger than a month ago, but I have put on about 2 kg this months. The highlights of the moment has to be the baby kicking. I always doubted and tried very hard to feel any kicking or movements inside with not much success and it finally happened recently! It actually feels like a huge vain beating randomly and the funny thing is I noticed it always happens after I eat a meal. I'm guessing bubba is loving food and having been waiting patiently for that moment and then it goes little crazy about it...

can't wait to see him/her... half way scan next week ...then I will be buying gears for my little precious one=D

slowly stepping into week 16, after all the Christmas eating, I'm not feeling 100% . Today I actually threw up for the first time suspecting it's due to last night's meat. I went to work still but turned out I was quite sick. I txted my MW who suggested I should go to a doctor. I took a half day off and head to the doc., After agonizing 1 hour long wait, finally got to talk to an expert. He checked out my tummy and asked a few questions, suggested I should not eat BBQ and tried to cook my own meal. I feel I have been such an irresponsible mum. Not looking after myself and the little one and being lazy. He also said that my tummy doesn't show as big. I feel the same way...is it because the baby is growing too slow?? not sure, but he said it can be normal. I'm still not convinced.

He prescribed me Mylanta and some other pills for upsetting stomach.....what an afternoon..!!

week 12-13, Dec 5, 2010

It's been that long!! unbelievable. I still feel pretty much the same or maybe a little better..still do not have cravings and still struggling to find the right food. Last week I had my first ultra sound scan, it was quite amazing! It was so clear and I can almost see the details. Really have to thank modern technology that gives me more hope and encouragement on this journey.

I will update a video link when Stew has uploaded it onto his site. Apart this excitement, not much of change in terms of my body shape and spirit. I still have bad appetite and mood swings( no bad mood most of the time).

Again in the morning, I did the test again. This time it is a strong positive sign.....still I do not trust it completely although the packaging says 99% accuracy. I guess we should find out this weekend=)

Had a very nicely cooked scotch fillet from Stew...yummy..starting to double wash my raw vegies and fruits. and overcook my meat if I can.

I got up in the morning feeling exhausted. It is indeed the third day I missed my period. I'm certainly not convinced this is it because I can feel the hormone imbalance causing extreme sore muscles. This happens to me every time just before my period comes and I pray for it to be over so that I can just forget about it. Now I just feel like a big sore object.
I did a quick urine test and surprisingly it shows light positive. Not sure if I'm happy or confused and of course my first instinct is to see the doc and get it tested on the same day. Stew seems to be more relaxed about it and suggested that I should do another one tomorrow morning just to be sure and get it checked next weekend. I thought it was a conservative idea but took it any way.
So I was thinking about it on and off all day....

I made a wrong decision years back in my career because I did not know myself enough. All I cared about was money and just like a toddler I craved for new things to do. Things that could earn me more money in the future. Now I know the most important thing is to know yourself first and try to find a matching job and do it extremely well. I believe this kind of success will bring you true happiness. In today's world, however, there are so many distractions around to pull you away from this. Recruitment agencies are one of them. But it is you who creates your own future. So be strong and do the right thing for yourself.
